A year of movement, power, and possibility

The year 2025 will forever be remembered for extraordinary people we met and the challenging adventures we experienced. And it all started in the Amazon….

MWE started production on a new documentary feature titled THE LOST VOICE. This was not just a challenging film shoot but one that was very personal for Christina Rose. The documentary follows Christina as she sets out to uncover the mysterious legacy of her great-grand aunt Pola Brückner (Pola Bauer-Adamara), believed to be the first female filmmaker in the Amazon. From Berlin archives to the depths of the Amazon, Christina retraces Pola’s 1929 expedition—uncovering secrets, confronting uncomfortable truths, and discovering unexpected parallels between their lives as women behind the camera. What begins as a search for lost footage and family history transforms into a powerful exploration of identity, truth, and purpose across generations. A story of legacy, resilience, and reclaiming lost voices.

That’s the documentary feature film. However, what makes this production so special and unique are the people who were part of this whole journey, especially the people from the Amazon who Christina met along the way.

“We were filming at a very remote fazenda on the island of Marajó. We had to bring along our whole infrastructure because at the location where we were filming, there was no running water, no food, no electricity. For a crew of nine people, we had to make sure we had hammocks, food, water and certainly ways to charge oll our gear. It was quite challenging. But I’ll never forgot how on our last evening there, we invited the people living at this place and had a wonderful dinner all together, around the table, sharing the food we had, drinking beer we brought along, standing underneath the clear sky night filled with stars, enjoying the moment,” remembers Christina. “It was a beautiful moment that I’ll never forget for the rest of my life and I thank all the people who helped make this happen.”

Marajó wasn’t the only location in the Amazon the team filmed. Another important film shoot took place in Belém, the capital and largest city of the state of Pará in the north of Brazil. With the help of a number of people, from Diego to Haroldo to Fernando to Agenor to Nelson, we not only learned a lot about the history of this beautiful place but thanks to Diego and his team, ended up finding train tracks that date back to 1920s, uncovering a lost piece of history.

“I’ll never be able to put into words how special this journey has been and how grateful I am to everyone who’s helped us along the way. I’m full of gratitude. I also want to thank the team from São Paulo, especially Moisés, Claudia, Julianna, Isabella and the whole Grifa team. Of course, I don’t’ want to forget the team in Germany as well who’s helped me execute the vision of our story there as well.”

After 45 shooting days, four shooting blocks, and hundreds of hours of footage, the production that started in April 2025 ended in November 2025. Since then, we’ve been editing the story. In 2026 we will continue to work on it so we can share the story that fulfills MWE’s mission statement: to share a story that’s entertaining, educational, and is enlightening. There’s still a lot of work ahead of us and we welcome anyone joining our journey via our Instagram page here.

While filming THE LOST VOICE was certainly a highlight for 2025, a few other projects have moved along as well. Not only have we made significant progress for our fictional series ISOLATION but our continued work with Morgan Gendel for the documentary film BECOMING TREK has also made headway. There are a few other projects we’ve been working on as well and while from the outside, we might not be able to share anything significant now, but know that the energy of 2026 for MWE is fast, forward-moving and full of breakthroughs.

Get ready…2026 is a year of movement, power, and possibility!
